Adorable Graphics

There are no significant design changes from the first installment of COL. The first one already looks good, so there’s nothing much to fix.

The entire game is still rendered in 3D and colored with a vibrant palette. The cartoonish design makes everything look adorable, even the enemies. This will surely appeal to younger players, but adults are looking for a casual title that is not too dark and brutal can still enjoy it.

As a tower defense and RTS title, expect that the Clash of Lords mobile app will have numerous buttons on the screen. The icons can be distracting if they are not laid out properly on the interface, but thankfully, the developers kept them organized.

At the right side are icons for your quests, settings, mail, and gifts.

Gathering Resources

To create buildings or summon troops and heroes, you need resources. Unlike Warcraft, you only need a few items to create buildings. The basic ones require gold and jewels. Infrastructures range from shacks, towers, town halls, and a hall of heroes where you can produce powerful characters. Some are used for training troops, while others are used for gathering more resources. Each building can also be upgraded to give them more features or attack power.

Before you can build larger buildings, you need to create minor ones first. The challenge here is you need to budget your available resources. Time is also a factor, as some buildings take hours or days to be completed.

Heroes

In Clash of Lords tablet game, you can create several copies of a single hero, provided that you have available resources. Recruiting heroes require a lot of gems, but the game hands out free ones every once in a while. Heroes are classified as Normal, Good, Rare, Epic, and Special. Normal is the weakest, while the Special ones are the strongest. They can be leveled up by purchasing EXP Cards. Aside from having above average stats, heroes have upgradeable skills that are vital for campaigns.

Before playing with other players, you can test the strength of your heroes and foot soldiers in the Player versus AI modes. You can either attack enemy AI bases or let them attack your headquarters.
